Ah! You don’t understand. BESS. Bess Store. It’s my heaven. You walk into a store and all you see is studs, deconstructed fabric & beat up leather. As i told you, heavens. Bess is known, well, known among real fashion lovers, not the fake i-have-money-therefore-i-must-be-stylish kind; as a store with THE best boots on the planet. I have no idea how they find it, or make it or beat it up, and the boot shopping experience is a bit unconventional. You don’t walk, see what you like and ask for your size. Hardly any pair even has a size on them. It works on this principle: you walk in and you see tons of boots on top of each other. All shapes and kinds. And then you stay there for like an hour and try everything. Until you find your size in the model you like. There’s no same pair, everything is different, everything is unique. Do you know how many times i went to BESS and spent countless hours trying on everything i could and never quite found the match of style i wanted with the size i needed? Millions. To the point i thought; me and Bess – never happening. But then i just finally did. The color, the right amount of beat up-ness, the height, the lace-up, the amount of studs, the heel. Ladies and gents, meet my perfect love match.

By miranda vidak on February 3, 2010 | Category: hardware | Tags: Bess, Bess Los Angeles | No CommentsI’ve been so busy lately that i didn’t even get my hands on to….well, keyboard to be precise…onto the fact my New York dream of a store opened in LA. BESS on Lafayette, along with ATRIUM on Broadway are my life long favorite stores in New York. It’s basically a church to me. Church moved to MELROSE. My Bess favorite item? Studded Rollover Combat Boots. I would buy 4o pairs and hang them on my wall, instead of paintings. Or on the corners where wall meets the ceiling. How many Rollovers here?
